These colors are of great significance to Hungarian culture, as they have been historically used by the nation’s leaders since the 13th century. Although each color’s meaning can be interpreted differently, the Constitution of Hungary states that the red symbolizes the strength of the Hungarian people, the white signifies national allegiance, and the green represents hope.
