Why the Children’s Festival? This time-honored holiday falls in the middle of the harvest season, a busy period that limits the time many families have to play with their children. That makes this day the perfect time for parents to take a well-deserved break and enjoy time with their youngsters! In years past, dancers would bring joy to their neighborhoods while performing in symbolic garb and children would carry festive lanterns shaped like carps or stars to light the streets. Mooncakes filled the bellies of celebrants. While festivities are quieter this year as families celebrate at home, the joys of the day will not be forgotten! Happy Mid Autumn Festival, Vietnam!
