Armenia Independence Day 2021

Google Dooles 20.09.2021 23:30  Date: September 21, 2021 Located in the mountainous, Caucasus region where the Asian and European continents converge, Armenia celebrates its Independence Day on the 1991 anniversary of the nation voting in a countrywide referendum for sovereignty. Today’s Doodle celebrates this public holiday, also known as Ankakhutyun, with a depiction of the national tricolor flag. Designed by Armenian lexicographer, educator, linguist, and philologist Stepan Malkhasyants, each element of the flag represents the Armenian people and its landscape. The red stripe at the top represents Armenian perseverance, freedom, and its highland regions; the blue stripe in the middle symbolizes their efforts to maintain life under peaceful skies, and the orange stripe at the bottom signifies the resiliency and creativity of the Armenian populace.
